Writing sample from my freshman year.

I thought this piece was entertaining:

Personal Issue

Everyday, thousands of college students order food from local food joints. Late night pizza is a part of my new life as a college student. At Butler University, I have found that my options for a late night pizza are more limited than I could have ever imagined. The average delivery time is far too long and the customer service at nearly every pizza place around is severely lacking. I feel as though I have been let down because by the poor service. Local restaurants must try harder to satisfy my late night craving for pizza.

College and pizza go together like peas in a pod. As long as there have been college students, there has been a market for average, cheap, and quick food delivery. Since coming to school, I have ordered food so many times I have lost count. As I now feel obligated to stay up as long as I possibly can, I have found that pizza just feels right at 1:30 in the morning. My love for this luscious mix of bread, sauce, cheese, and any random topping which I see fit, has grown ten fold since I became a college student.

Through my numerous experiences with several of the local pizza restaurants, I have felt that their service is inadequate. I have expectations which I feel a pizza place should meet. Many problems have come about when I order pizza. I have waited over two hours for a pizza, I have been blatantly lied to, and there have been times when my pizza failed to reach me. When these specific events occur, I feel hurt and let down. I need a pizza place that will deliver late night food to me in a timely manor.

Pizza was easier to get when I was in high school than it is for me now as a college student. This is absolutely depressing. It is not uncommon for college freshman to gain weight when they go off to college. I feel as though I have not had the same weight gaining opportunities that other college freshmen have had. Other college students know how it feels to have a quality pizza delivery experience, and I wonder why I cannot have the same experience.

It has been a dream of mine to become a true college student. Everything is falling into place, except the fact that I cannot successfully order a late night pizza. Butler University students need to band together and boycott until justice is served. We, the students at Butler University, deserve late night pizza and we ought to have a pizza restaurant which will do us justice.

Internet radio thrills

I do think that you should check out http://www.radioparadise.com/. My father loves this station. I love this station. Be sure to glance at the playlist page to see if you fancy the type of music played. I run the octoshape 192k mp3 stream; generally this format won't lag or require extensive buffering time (at least through my experience).

Point, The

I think that I am missing the point.

My first blog got me going, I truly enjoyed writing that first entry. Now, I have no real reason as to why I might bother to manufacture a post. We'll here it goes...#2

My friends and I had an interesting conversation earlier this evening. A friend of mine, Mitch, said that he doesn't like to hear people say that they are fortunate. As in: "I am so fortunate that I live this way; that is the reason why I want to help people."

My first response to this is that I just flat out disagree. Of course I am thankful that I have been so fortunate. But Mitch has a different view. He maintains that as I declare I am fortunate, I am therefore saying that I am better than someone who is, in opposition, less fortunate.

I am still pondering this idea. After the thought was left to stew in my head, I have had a slight change of heart. And I do mean slight! I will be back with a coherent entry regarding that thought. As for now, I must hit the sack. This post was just a lil' diddy. I promise to have something of substance in the near future.
